  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • Salt & black pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

For the Rice:

  • 1 cup long-grain white rice
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • ½ tsp salt

For the Creamy Sauce:

  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1½ cups whole milk
  • ½ cup chicken broth
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ¼ tsp thyme
  • ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

👩‍🍳 Instructions

  1. Season the Chicken
Rub chicken with garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
  2. Sear the Chicken
Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear chicken for 4–5 min per side until golden. Remove and set aside.
  3. Cook the Rice
Bring broth and salt to a boil. Add rice, reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 15–18 min. Fluff and set aside.
  4. Make the Sauce
In the same skillet, melt butter. Whisk in flour and cook 1–2 min. Slowly whisk in milk and broth.
  5. Cheesy Goodness 🧀
Stir in garlic powder, thyme, cheddar, and Parmesan. Simmer 3–4 min until thick and creamy.
  6. Smother That Chicken
Return chicken to the skillet and spoon sauce on top. Cover and simmer 10 min on low heat.
  7. Serve and Savor
Plate rice, top with chicken and sauce, and sprinkle with fresh parsley. Serve warm and enjoy!

⭐ Pro Tips

  • Don’t skip the sear — it locks in flavor!
  • Want a veggie boost? Add sautéed mushrooms or spinach to the sauce.
  • Use a meat thermometer — chicken is done at 165°F.
