Equipment

  • 1 Large mixing bowl
  • 1 non-stick skillet
  • 1 Spatula

Ingredients

Burger Patties

  • 1 pound ground chicken
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Optional Toppings

  • Whole wheat buns
  • Lettuce leaves
  • Sliced tomatoes
  • Sliced onions
  • Avocado slices
  • Greek yogurt

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground chicken, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined, but avoid over-mixing to keep the patties tender.
  • Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape each into a patty about 1/2 inch thick. Place the patties on a plate and chill for 30 minutes to help them hold their shape during cooking.

Cooking

  • Heat olive oil in a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, add the patties to the skillet.
  • Cook the patties for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until fully cooked and the internal temperature reaches 165°F.

Assembling Burgers

  • While the patties are cooking, prepare your desired toppings such as lettuce, tomato, onion, and avocado.
  • Place each cooked patty on a whole wheat bun. Add your choice of toppings and a dollop of Greek yogurt for added creaminess.

Serving and Storage

  • Serve the burgers immediately while hot. Pair with a side salad or sweet potato fries for a complete meal.
  • Store any leftover patties in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in a skillet over medium heat before serving.
