Classic Meatloaf

Creamy Macaroni

elbow macaroni

shredded cheddar cheese

milk or light cream

Instructions
Preheat oven to 375°F and lightly grease a loaf pan or baking dish.
Combine breadcrumbs and milk in a small bowl and let soften.
Mix ground beef, soaked breadcrumbs, egg, onion, garlic, salt, black pepper, paprika, parsley, and ketchup until just combined.
Shape the mixture into a loaf and place in the prepared pan.
Bake uncovered for 55 to 60 minutes until fully cooked.
While the meatloaf bakes, cook macaroni in salted water until tender and drain.
Melt butter in a saucepan, whisk in flour, then slowly whisk in milk until slightly thickened.
Reduce heat and stir in cheddar until melted and smooth, then add macaroni and stir to coat.
Let meatloaf rest 10 minutes before slicing and serving with creamy macaroni.
Notes
Keep the cheese sauce slightly loose so the macaroni stays creamy when served.
