  • 1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup (optional, for sweetness) Adjust based on desired sweetness.
  • Salt, to taste
  • Pepper, to taste
  • Optional: Fresh herbs (such as basil, parsley, or thyme) Adds complexity and flavor.

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the vinegar, Dijon mustard, and minced garlic. Whisk together until the mustard is fully incorporated.
  • Slowly drizzle in the olive oil while whisking continuously to emulsify the dressing.
  • If using, add honey or maple syrup to achieve your desired level of sweetness. Whisk to blend completely.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste, starting with a small pinch of each.
  • If desired, stir in finely chopped fresh herbs for added flavor and freshness.
  • Transfer the vinaigrette to a glass jar or bottle with a lid, and let it sit for at least 15 minutes before using.

Notes

Experiment with different types of vinegar to find your favorite flavor combination. For a creamier vinaigrette, add a tablespoon of yogurt or sour cream. This dressing can be stored in the refrigerator for up to a week. Use fresh herbs to enhance the flavor.
