Ingredients
  

Base

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 cup softened butter
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • In a mixing bowl, cream butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until fluffy.
  • Add eggs one at a time, followed by vanilla extract.
  • Stir in flour and baking soda until just combined, then fold in chocolate chips.
  • Drop spoonfuls of dough onto prepared baking sheets.
  • Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until edges are golden. Cool slightly before transferring to a rack.

Notes

Chill dough for 20–30 minutes for thicker cookies. Use a mix of milk and dark chocolate chips for richer flavor. Sprinkle with sea salt before baking for a bakery-style finish.
