Equipment

  • 1 Mixing Bowl large
  • 1 Whisk
  • 1 resealable plastic bag gallon size
  • 1 Grill

Ingredients

Marinade Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 tsp black pepper

Optional Add-Ins

  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tbsp fresh rosemary chopped

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, minced garlic, honey, and black pepper. Whisk until well blended.
  • Place the sirloin steaks in a resealable plastic bag. Pour the marinade over the steaks, seal the bag, and remove as much air as possible.
  • Refrigerate the marinated steaks for at least 2 hours, ideally overnight, to allow the flavors to fully penetrate the meat.

Cooking

  • Preheat your grill to medium-high heat, approximately 400°F, to ensure a good sear on the steaks.
  • Remove the steaks from the marinade and place them on the hot grill. Cook for 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare. Adjust the time based on your preferred doneness.
  • If grilling is not an option, consider pan-searing the steaks in a hot skillet or broiling them in the oven for similar results.

Serving

  • Remove the steaks from the grill and let them rest for 5 minutes before slicing. This allows the juices to redistribute evenly.
  • Slice the steaks against the grain and serve with your favorite sides. Pair with a bold red wine or a cold lager for an enhanced dining experience.
