Equipment

  • 1 Grill preheated to medium-high heat
  • 8 skewers soaked if wooden

Ingredients

Marinade

  • 1/2 cup olive oil
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

Kabobs

  • 1 lb sirloin steak cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1 lb boneless skinless chicken breasts cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 2 bell peppers cut into chunks
  • 1 red onion cut into wedges
  • 8 oz mushrooms whole or halved

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a large bowl, whisk together olive oil, soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, and Worcestershire sauce until well combined. This will be used to marinate the steak and chicken for optimal flavor.
  • Place the steak and chicken cubes into separate resealable bags. Divide the marinade between the bags, ensuring the meat is well coated. Seal and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight for best results.

Grilling

  • Set your grill to medium-high heat, approximately 400°F. This will ensure the kabobs cook evenly while developing a nice char.
  • Thread the marinated steak, chicken, and vegetables onto the skewers, alternating ingredients. This allows for even cooking and a balanced flavor profile.
  • Place the kabobs on the grill and cook for about 12-15 minutes, turning occasionally. Ensure the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F for safety.

Serving

  • Let the kabobs rest for a few minutes after grilling. Serve hot, alongside your favorite side dishes for a complete meal.

Storage

  • Place any leftover kabobs in an airtight container and refrigerate for up to 3 days. Reheat on the grill or in the oven to enjoy again.
