Ingredients

Shrimp and Seasoning

  • 1 lb large shrimp peeled and deveined
  • 2 tbsp paprika
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

Taco Assembly

  • 8 small tortillas
  • 1 cup shredded cabbage
  • 1 avocado sliced

Instructions

Preparation

  • Place a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat. Add a tablespoon of oil to the skillet and let it heat until shimmering.
  • Add the shrimp to the skillet in a single layer. Cook for 2-3 minutes on one side until a blackened crust forms, then flip and cook for another 2-3 minutes until shrimp are opaque and cooked through.
  • While the shrimp are cooking, warm the tortillas in a separate skillet or in the oven at 350°F until soft and pliable.
  • Place a few shrimp into each tortilla. Top with shredded cabbage and avocado slices. Serve immediately with lime wedges on the side.

Serving

  • Serve the tacos hot with a side of lime wedges and optional toppings like fresh cilantro or salsa for added flavor.
