Ingredients
  

Cake Batter

  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 eggs room temperature
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup milk

Instructions
 

  • Cream softened butter and sugar until light and smooth, then mix in eggs one at a time followed by vanilla extract.
  • Whisk flour, baking powder, and salt together, then add to the batter alternating with milk until just combined.
  • Spread batter evenly into a prepared pan and bake at 350°F until the cake is set and a toothpick comes out clean.

Notes

Allow cake to cool fully before slicing for clean pieces. Serve plain or lightly dusted with powdered sugar.
