Ingredients
  

Cake Batter

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs room temperature
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup milk

Instructions
 

  • Cream softened butter and sugar until smooth, then mix in eggs and vanilla extract.
  • Whisk flour, baking powder, and salt, then add to the batter alternating with milk until just combined.
  • Spread batter evenly into a prepared pan and bake at 350°F until the cake is set and a toothpick comes out clean.
