Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 whole rotisserie chicken (about 3-4 pounds), shredded
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce (or sauce of your choice) Adapt sauce according to taste.
  • 1 cup coleslaw mix
  • ½ cup mayonnaise Can substitute with Greek yogurt for a lighter option.
  • 12 pieces slider buns (sweet or savory) Toast for added texture.
  • Salt & pepper, to taste
  • Optional: sliced pickles for garnish Add for extra flavor.
  • Optional: chopped fresh herbs for garnish Enhance the presentation and flavor.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Start by shredding the rotisserie chicken. Use your hands or two forks to separate the meat from the bones, ensuring you remove any unwanted skin.
  • Place the shredded chicken in a large mixing bowl, and cover it with your choice of barbecue sauce. Stir well to coat the chicken evenly.
  • In another bowl, combine the coleslaw mix with mayonnaise, seasoning it with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Let the coleslaw mixture sit for a few minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.

Cooking

  • Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add the sauced chicken to the skillet and warm it through for about 5 minutes, stirring frequently.
  • Prepare the slider buns by slicing them in half and lightly toasting them on a pan, cut side down, for a minute or two until they are golden and slightly crispy.

Assembly

  • To assemble the sliders, place a generous spoonful of the warmed chicken on the bottom half of each bun.
  • Top with a spoonful of the coleslaw mixture for added crunch and creaminess.
  • If desired, add sliced pickles or fresh herbs for an extra burst of flavor.

Serving

  • Place the top half of the bun on each slider and arrange them on a serving platter. Serve immediately while they are warm and inviting.

Notes

Experiment with different sauces for unique flavor profiles. Make sliders ahead of time and warm them gently in the oven before serving for convenience.
