Preparation

  • In a mixing bowl, combine pumpkin puree, eggs, milk, vanilla extract, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and salt. Whisk until lightly frothy and smooth, ensuring all ingredients are well combined.
  • Heat a skillet or griddle over medium heat and add a small pat of butter, allowing it to melt and bubble.

Cooking

  • Dip each slice of bread into the pumpkin mixture, allowing it to soak for a few seconds on each side.
  • Place the soaked bread slices onto the skillet and cook for about 2-4 minutes per side, or until they develop a golden-brown crust.
  • Transfer the slices to a plate and keep them warm while you finish cooking the rest. Repeat until all the slices are done, adding more butter as necessary.

Serving

  • Serve the Pumpkin French Toast warm, topped with maple syrup or a light dusting of powdered sugar.

Notes
