  • 2 cups sponge cake or pound cake cubed
  • 2 cups vanilla custard or pudding
  • 2 cups whipped cream

  • 1/4 cup granola or crushed cookies for topping

Preparation

  • Wash and dry the berries. Slice strawberries if using. Toss the berries with a tablespoon of sugar if desired to enhance sweetness.
  • Cut the sponge or pound cake into small, even cubes. If using liqueur, lightly drizzle over the cake cubes to infuse flavor.

Assembling the Trifles

  • Begin with a layer of cake cubes at the bottom of each cup. Add a layer of custard, followed by a layer of mixed berries. Repeat until the cup is filled, finishing with a layer of whipped cream.
