Equipment

  • 1 Electric Mixer
  • 1 Mixing Bowl large

Ingredients

Dough

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tbsp instant yeast
  • 1/2 cup milk warm
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Filling

  • 1 cup fresh blueberries
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 tbsp lemon zest
  • 1/4 cup cream cheese softened

Lemon Glaze

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp milk

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine warm milk, yeast, and sugar. Let it sit until bubbly, about 5 minutes. Add melted butter, eggs, and salt. Mix in the flour gradually until a dough forms.
  • Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place it in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise until doubled, about 1 hour.

Filling

  • In a bowl, mix cream cheese, sugar, and lemon zest until smooth. Roll out the dough into a rectangle and spread the filling evenly over it. Sprinkle blueberries on top.

Assembly

  • Roll the dough tightly from one long side to the other. Slice into 8 equal pieces and place them in the prepared pan. Cover and let rise again for 30 minutes.

Baking

  • Bake the rolls in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown on top. Let them cool slightly in the pan before glazing.

Serving

  • Mix powdered sugar, lemon juice, and milk to make the glaze. Drizzle over the warm rolls before serving.

Storage

  • Store any leftover rolls in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days, or refrigerate for up to a week for freshness.
