Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 lb thinly sliced beef steak (such as ribeye or sirloin) For a flavorful filling.
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil For cooking.
  • 1 medium yellow onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 bell pepper thinly sliced (green, red, or yellow)
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded provolone cheese For topping.
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Optional: fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish) Can be added for flavor and presentation.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced onion and bell pepper, cooking them for 5-7 minutes until softened and caramelized.
  • Season the thinly sliced beef with garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Once the vegetables are ready, push them to the side of the skillet and add the beef. Cook for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally until browned.
  • Remove from heat and add the softened cream cheese to the meat mixture, stirring until evenly coated.
  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lay out sheets of foil for wrapping the rolls. Place a portion of the beef-vegetable mixture at one end of each foil sheet and top with provolone cheese.
  • Carefully roll the foil around the filling, tucking in the ends to form a package. Place seam side down on a baking sheet.
  • Bake for 10 minutes, until the cheese melts and the exterior is lightly golden.
  • Let cool for a minute before peeling back the foil to serve.

Notes

For extra flavor, marinate the beef in Worcestershire sauce for 30 minutes. Ensure cream cheese is at room temperature for easier mixing. Leftovers can be reheated in a skillet or enjoyed cold.
