Equipment

  • Slow Cooker
  • Cutting board
  • Chef's Knife
  • Meat Thermometer

Ingredients

  • 3 lb boneless turkey breast bone-in works too
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika or regular paprika
  • 2 tsp poultry seasoning
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup sliced onions
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter

Instructions

  • Pat the turkey breast dry with paper towels. Sprinkle garlic powder, smoked paprika, poultry seasoning, salt, and pepper over both sides of the turkey, rubbing it in well.
  • Pour the chicken broth into the bottom of the slow cooker. Add the sliced onions to the broth.
  • Place the seasoned turkey breast on top of the onions in the slow cooker. Dot the top of the turkey with the butter.
  • Cover and cook on LOW for 3–4 hours, or until the turkey reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C) in the thickest part.
  • For optional crispy skin: transfer the cooked turkey breast to a baking sheet and broil in the oven for 3–5 minutes, or place in an air fryer at 400°F for 3–4 minutes, until the top is golden and slightly crispy.
  • Let the turkey rest for 10–20 minutes before slicing. This helps lock in the juices and keeps the meat tender.
