Equipment

  • 1 Crockpot
  • 1 Skillet
  • 1 Mixing Bowl

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 6 chicken thighs bone-in, skin-on
  • 1 packet ranch seasoning mix
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 8 oz cream cheese softened
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Optional Add-ins

  • 1 cup sliced carrots
  • 1 cup baby potatoes halved

Instructions

Preparation

  • Season the chicken thighs with salt and pepper. In a skillet over medium-high heat, sear the chicken until golden brown on both sides. This locks in the juices and adds flavor.
  • Place the seared chicken thighs in the crockpot. Add the ranch seasoning, minced garlic, and cream cheese. Pour the chicken broth over the top.
  • Cover the crockpot and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours, until the chicken is tender and cooked through.
  • If a thicker sauce is desired, remove the lid in the last 30 minutes of cooking to allow some liquid to evaporate.

Serving

  • Stir the sauce to combine. Serve chicken hot, garnished with fresh parsley or chives.
  • Serve with mashed potatoes, rice, or pasta to soak up the delicious sauce.

Storage

  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Reheat gently on the stovetop or in the microwave until warmed through.

Notes

Pro Tips: Use bone-in, skin-on chicken for the best results. Searing the chicken adds extra flavor. For a thicker sauce, remove the lid in the last 30 minutes of cooking.
Ingredient Substitutions: Boneless chicken breasts can be used but reduce the cooking time slightly. Low-fat cream cheese can be used for a lighter version.
How to Serve: Serve over mashed potatoes or rice for a complete meal.
Storage & Freshness: Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Reheat gently on the stove or microwave.
Make-Ahead Tips: Prep ingredients the night before to streamline your morning routine.
