Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients

  • ¾ cup extra virgin olive oil Use high-quality for the best flavor.
  • ¼ cup red wine vinegar
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • ¼ tsp salt Adjust to taste.
  • ¼ tsp black pepper Adjust to taste.
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • Optional: fresh chopped herbs such as parsley or thyme Add just before serving.
  • Optional: crushed red pepper flakes for heat Add for extra spice.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Gather all your ingredients in a mixing bowl at room temperature.
  • Add the red wine vinegar, dried oregano, dried basil, garlic powder, salt, black pepper, and sugar.
  • Slowly drizzle in the olive oil while whisking continuously to emulsify the dressing.
  • Taste the dressing and adjust seasonings as necessary.
  • Transfer the dressing to a jar or bottle and store in the refrigerator.
  • Allow to rest for at least 30 minutes before using to develop flavors.

Notes

This dressing tastes even better after resting in the refrigerator. Fresh herbs should be added just before serving for optimal flavor.
