Equipment

  • 1 Large mixing bowl
  • 1 Rolling Pin
  • 1 Baking Sheet

Ingredients

Dry Ingredients

  • 3 1/2 to 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 envelope instant dry yeast
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp salt

Wet Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups warm water 110°F
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, yeast, sugar, and salt. Gradually add the warm water and olive oil, mixing with a wooden spoon until the dough begins to come together.
  • Transfer the dough to a floured surface. Knead for about 10 minutes until the dough is smooth and elastic.
  • Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let rise in a warm area until doubled in size, about 1 to 2 hours.
  • Once risen, punch down the dough to remove excess air. Divide into portions for individual pizzas.
  • Roll each portion into a ball, then use a rolling pin to flatten into desired thickness for pizza bases.

Baking

  • Preheat your oven to 475°F. If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven to heat up as well.
  • Top your shaped dough with sauce, cheese, and desired toppings.
  • Place the pizza on a baking sheet or directly on the pizza stone. Bake for 10-15 minutes until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.

Serving

  • Remove the pizza from the oven, let cool slightly, then slice and serve.

Storage

  • Wrap unused dough tightly in plastic wrap and store in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
