Preparation

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, yeast, and salt. Gradually add warm water and olive oil, mixing until a dough forms. Knead the dough for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic. Cover and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
  • Preheat your oven to 450°F. If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven while it heats.
  • Mix the tomato sauce with your choice of herbs and seasonings. Set aside.
  • Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out on a floured surface to your desired thickness. Transfer the dough to a lightly greased baking sheet or preheated pizza stone.
