Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 2 whole sea bream, cleaned and scaled
  • 2 Tbsp olive oil
  • 1 whole lemon, sliced Optional for garnish
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • to taste Fresh herbs (such as parsley or dill) For garnish
  • to taste Salt & pepper
  • optional additional lemon wedges for serving

Instructions

Preparation

  • Start by preparing the sea bream. Rinse the fish under cold water and pat dry with paper towels.
  • Make a few diagonal slashes on each side of the fish to allow for even cooking and flavor absorption.
  • In a small bowl, mix the olive oil, minced garlic, salt, and pepper. Brush this mixture generously over the sea bream.

Grilling

  • Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. If using a grill pan, heat it on the stovetop until hot.
  • Place the prepared sea bream on the grill. Add a few slices of lemon on top of each fish.
  • Grill for about 6-8 minutes on each side until the skin is golden brown and the flesh flakes easily with a fork.

Serving

  • Once cooked, carefully transfer the fish to a serving platter. Garnish with fresh herbs and additional lemon wedges if desired.
  • Serve immediately and enjoy the scent of grilled fish wafting through the air.

Notes

Ensure your grill is preheated for even cooking and crispy skin. Use a fish spatula for easier flipping. Experiment with different herbs or marinades for varied flavor profiles. This dish can also be baked in the oven at 400°F (200°C) for around 20-25 minutes if grilling isn’t an option.
