Equipment

  • 1 Pizza stone for crisp crust
  • 1 Rolling Pin for shaping dough
  • 1 Mixing Bowl large

Ingredients

Dough Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 3/4 cup warm water
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Topping Suggestions

  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup crumbled goat cheese
  • 1/2 cup sliced prosciutto
  • 1/4 cup sliced figs
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves

Instructions

Dough Preparation

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, salt, and sugar. In a separate bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water and let sit for 5 minutes. Add the yeast mixture and olive oil to the dry ingredients and mix until a dough forms.
  • Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place in an oiled bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.

Assembling the Pizza

  • Preheat your oven to 475°F and place a pizza stone inside to heat up.
  • Punch down the risen dough and roll it out on a floured surface to your desired thickness. Transfer to a piece of parchment paper for easy handling.
  • Spread the tomato sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges. Sprinkle with mozzarella cheese, then add figs, prosciutto, and goat cheese.

Baking the Pizza

  • Carefully slide the pizza onto the preheated pizza stone and bake for 10-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.

Serving and Storage

  • Remove from oven and let cool for a few minutes. Top with fresh basil leaves before slicing and serving.
  • Store any leftover pizza in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven for best results.
