  • 2 cups fresh strawberries hulled and sliced
  • 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 4 cups cold water

Preparation

  • Wash the strawberries under cold water and hull them to remove the green tops. Slice them into halves or quarters.
  • In a blender, combine the sliced strawberries, freshly squeezed lemon juice, and granulated sugar. Blend until smooth.
  • Pour the blended mixture through a fine mesh sieve into a pitcher to remove seeds and pulp.
  • Add cold water to the strained strawberry-lemon mixture in the pitcher and stir well to combine.
  • Refrigerate the lemonade for at least one hour to enhance the flavors and serve chilled.
  • Pour the chilled lemonade over ice in tall glasses. Garnish with fresh mint leaves, lemon slices, or strawberry slices.
  • Taste the lemonade and adjust sweetness if necessary by adding more sugar or a sweetener of your choice.
  • For a fizzy version, substitute half of the water with sparkling water just before serving.
  • Keep any leftover lemonade in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days.
