- 40–45 saltine crackers
- 1 cup unsalted butter (2 sticks)
- 1 cup light brown sugar, packed
- 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans or peanuts optional
- flaky sea salt optional
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Arrange saltine crackers in a single layer on the baking sheet.
Melt butter in a saucepan, add brown sugar, and boil for 2–3 minutes while stirring.
Pour toffee over crackers and spread evenly.
Bake for 8–10 minutes until bubbling.
Top with chocolate chips, let melt, then spread evenly.
Sprinkle with nuts and sea salt if desired. Cool completely and break into pieces.
