Equipment

  • Mixing Bowl
  • Whisk
  • 8x8-inch baking pan
  • Oven

Ingredients

Base

  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 pinch salt

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease your baking pan or line with parchment.
  • In a bowl, whisk melted butter and sugar until smooth. Add eggs and vanilla; mix well.
  • Stir in cocoa powder, flour, and salt until just combined. Do not overmix.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
  • Bake for 25–30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  • Let cool completely before slicing into squares.

Notes

For extra fudgy brownies, add 1/2 cup chocolate chips. Chill for 20 minutes before slicing for clean cuts. Add a pinch of espresso powder to intensify the flavor.
