Ingredients

For the Sweet Potato Wedges

  • 2 medium sweet potatoes, scrubbed and cut into wedges
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp cayenne pepper (optional, for heat)
  • Salt & pepper, to taste

Optional Garnishes

  • fresh herbs (like parsley or thyme) for garnish
  • dipping sauce (such as yogurt or ranch)

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). This high temperature helps achieve that perfect crispy texture on the outside of the sweet potato wedges.
  • In a large bowl, combine the sweet potato wedges with olive oil, paprika, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper. Toss gently until the wedges are evenly coated with the mixture.
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper (optional) and arrange the sweet potato wedges in a single layer, ensuring not to overcrowd the pan.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 25–30 minutes, flipping the wedges halfway through for even cooking.
  • Once they are golden brown and crisp, remove the wedges from the oven and let them cool slightly. Garnish with fresh herbs if desired.

Serving

  • Serve immediately alongside your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

Cut the wedges uniformly for even cooking. Experiment with different spices to suit your taste. For extra crispy texture, soak the wedges in cold water for 30 minutes before baking. Store leftovers in an airtight container and reheat in the oven.
