  • 3 cloves garlic minced

  • 1/2 teaspoon dried sage
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

  • 4 cups turkey or chicken broth
  • 1 cup wild rice rinsed
  • 2 cups cooked turkey shredded
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • Salt to taste

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Gather and prepare all ingredients. Chop the vegetables and have the herbs and spices ready.
  • Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes.
  • Add garlic, carrots, and celery. Cook for another 5 minutes until the vegetables start to soften.
  • Stir in thyme, rosemary, sage, and black pepper. Mix well.
  • Pour in the broth and bring to a boil. Add wild rice, reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 40 minutes or until rice is tender.
  • Stir in shredded turkey and cream, cooking until heated through, about 5 minutes. Taste and adjust seasoning with salt as needed.

Serving

  • Serve hot, garnished with fresh herbs if desired.

  • Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days. Reheat gently on the stovetop.
