  • 4 pieces boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 box 15 oz stuffing mix (your choice of flavor)
  • 1 cup chicken broth For preparing stuffing
  • 1 can 10.5 oz cream of chicken soup
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt & pepper, to taste
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese For topping
  • Optional: fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the cream of chicken soup, sour cream, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Stir well until fully incorporated.
  • In a large baking dish, layer the uncooked chicken breasts at the bottom. Pour the cream mixture over the chicken, ensuring it's evenly covered.
  • Prepare the stuffing mix according to the package instructions using chicken broth. Spoon the stuffing evenly over the chicken and cream mixture.
  • Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the top of the stuffing.
  • Cover the dish tightly with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes. Then remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes.
  • Once cooked, remove the casserole from the oven and let it sit for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.

Notes

For extra flavor, use homemade chicken broth. Feel free to add vegetables like peas or carrots for added texture and nutrition. Let the casserole cool slightly before serving to allow the layers to set. Leftover turkey can be substituted for chicken.
