Equipment

  • 1 Small saucepan
  • 1 bamboo skewers soaked in water
  • 1 Cutting board

Ingredients

Skewers

  • 1 pint cherry tomatoes
  • 8 oz fresh mozzarella balls
  • 16 fresh basil leaves
  • 8 oz salami slices

Balsamic Reduction

  • 1 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

Preparation

  • Wash and dry the cherry tomatoes and basil leaves. Slice the salami into bite-sized pieces and halve the mozzarella balls if needed.

Assembling Skewers

  • Slide a cherry tomato onto a skewer, followed by a basil leaf, mozzarella ball, and a piece of salami. Repeat the pattern until the skewer is filled, leaving space at the ends.

Balsamic Reduction

  • Pour balsamic vinegar into a small saucepan and simmer over medium heat until reduced by half. Stir occasionally, about 8-10 minutes.
  • Remove from heat and stir in olive oil, salt, and pepper. Allow to cool slightly before drizzling over skewers.

Serving

  • Arrange skewers on a platter and drizzle with balsamic reduction just before serving. Enjoy immediately for the best flavor.

Storage

  • Place any leftover skewers in an airtight container and refrigerate for up to 2 days. Best served fresh.
