Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 2 cups shredded cooked chicken (rotisserie chicken works well)
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup buffalo hot sauce (adjust to taste)
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup sour cream

For Garnish

  • ¼ cup green onions, chopped for garnish

Seasoning

  • Salt & pepper, to taste

Serving Options

  • Optional: celery sticks or tortilla chips for serving

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a large skillet, combine the softened cream cheese and buffalo hot sauce over medium heat. Stir gently until the cream cheese is melted and the mixture is smooth, about 3-4 minutes.
  • Add the shredded chicken to the skillet and stir to combine, ensuring all the chicken is coated in the creamy sauce. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until heated through.
  • Reduce the heat to low and mix in the shredded cheddar cheese and sour cream. Stir continuously until the cheese has melted and the dip is smooth and creamy, about 5 minutes.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste, and adjust with more hot sauce if desired.
  • Transfer the dip to a serving bowl and garnish with chopped green onions. Serve immediately with celery sticks or tortilla chips.

Notes

For added flavor, consider using smoked chicken. Experiment with different cheeses like pepper jack for an additional kick. If prepared in advance, reheat gently on low heat, adding a splash of water or broth to restore creaminess. Serve with assorted dippers like veggies or crackers.
