Equipment

  • 1 Pizza stone for a crispy crust
  • 1 Rolling Pin to flatten the dough
  • 1 Baking Sheet for baking

Ingredients

Dough

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp instant yeast
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 3/4 cup warm water
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Sauce

  • 1 cup crushed tomatoes
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Toppings

  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese shredded
  • 1/2 cup pepperoni slices
  • 1/2 cup sliced bell peppers
  • 1/4 cup olives sliced
  • 1/4 cup mushrooms sliced

Instructions

Preparation

  • Combine flour, yeast, and salt in a bowl. Gradually add warm water and olive oil, mixing until a dough forms. Knead on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth. Let rise in a warm place for 1 hour.
  • In a saucepan, combine crushed tomatoes, garlic, oregano, and salt. Simmer on low heat for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thickened. Set aside to cool.
  • Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C) with a pizza stone inside for at least 30 minutes before baking.
  • Punch down the risen dough and roll it out on a floured surface to your desired thickness. Transfer to a baking sheet or pizza peel dusted with cornmeal.
  • Spread the prepared sauce over the dough, leaving a border for the crust. Sprinkle with mozzarella cheese and arrange pepperoni, bell peppers, olives, and mushrooms on top.
  • Transfer the pizza onto the hot pizza stone. Bake for 12-15 minutes, until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly. Rotate halfway through for even cooking.
  • Remove the pizza from the oven and let it cool slightly. Slice into 8 pieces and serve hot.
  • Store leftover pizza in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven for best results.
